Joining SRCCThe Santa Rosa Children's Chorus offers a wonderful opportunity for children to experience the joy of singing together. Our members make music a real part of their lives - and they love it! We schedule auditions several times during year, at the beginning and end of each semester. Auditions are open to anyone age 7-13 who is interested. No previous choral or instrumental experience is required. For the audition, your child should come prepared to sing a song they like. Through this, we can determine which level of the chorus is right for your child!

Choral ProgramOur choral year is from mid August through early June. We divide the year into two semesters, with mid January being the start of the new semester. Choristers meet weekly to study and rehearse, concentrating on theory, sight-reading, and consummate vocal technique. Children progress through the Training and Intermediate levels of the Chorus until they reach the Concert Group.
The Training and Intermediate Groups meet on Mondays, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM every week. Tuition for these groups is $750 for the 2016-17 season (May through June). The Concert Group meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM every week. Concert Group members also attend a summer camp in August. Tuition for the Concert Group is $1000 for the 2016-17 season (May through June). Summer camp is an additional fee. |
AuditionsThe best time to join the chorus is at the beginning of the Fall or Spring semesters. However, we’d be glad to hear from you at any time, as we take kids into the chorus throughout the chorus year. Please call or email if you’re interested (see info below).

Welcome! “Musical training is more potent than any other, because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul, imparting grace, and making the soul of him who is rightly educated graceful; and also because he who has received this true education becomes noble and good, he will justly blame and hate the bad now in the days of his youth, even before he is able to know the reason why; and when reason comes, he will recognize and salute the friend with whom his education had made him long familiar.” - Plato, on the value of music education |
